Among all 24 masks in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, the Couple's Mask is the second-most difficult one to acquire (behind the Fierce Deity's Mask, which requires the other 23). Despite the difficulty, the Couple's Mask's only use is to end the bickering between Mutoh and Viscen in the Mayor's Residence in East Clock Town for a Piece of Heart. This can be done from 10 AM to 8 PM on the First or Second Day, or from 10 AM to 6 PM on the Final Day.

The Reuniting Kafei and Anju quest grants the Couple's Mask as a reward. It's the most involved side quest in Majora's Mask and one of the longest in the entire Legend of Zelda series. Since this side quest also offers one of two potential rewards, Link will need to repeat most of it a second time to acquire the one he didn't get the first time. This guide applies to the original Nintendo 64 version and the 3DS remake.

If Kafei's Mask hasn't been acquired, now is the time to do so. It's necessary to complete this side quest and doesn't take very long to get. Simply head to the Mayor's Official Residence in East Clock Town after 10 AM (it's not open to the public before then) and go through the door on the right past the receptionist. It's the door opposite the Mayor's office — Gorman heads inside and talks to Madame Aroma from 10:55 AM to 11:45 AM.
To avoid needing to wait for them to finish, talk to Madame Aroma first in Link's Hylian Form to acquire Kafei's Mask. It's also wise to have activated the Owl Statue in Ikana Canyon prior to starting this side quest, as quick transportation there is very helpful later on. To begin the side quest, head to the Stock Pot Inn in East Clock Town at any point between 2:20 PM and 9:05 PM and speak to the innkeeper while wearing Kafei's Mask.

If playing the Nintendo 64 version, the Song of Double Time (→ → A A ↓ ↓) can skip ahead to the Night of the First Day. The innkeeper is Anju, Kafei's fiancé, who will tell Link to meet her in the kitchen at 11:30 PM. Note that there's another event with a small timing window in Anju's profile in the Bomber's Notebook, but this isn't related to this side quest and can be ignored.
Since Link is forced to leave the Stock Pot Inn at 8:30 PM, if he enters through the main door without a Room Key, it may be necessary to enter through the rooftop entrance. Use the nearby Deku Flower as Deku Link to fly toward the inn's bell and use that door. The kitchen is downstairs on Link's left, across a long hallway — it's the room with a white patterned floor and bugs crawling around.

Players with the Nintendo 64 version will have to wait patiently for Anju to arrive. Though her dialogue indicated that Link meets her at 11:30 PM, she'll arrive at around midnight. Speak to her to receive the Letter to Kafei, which must be deposited in any of Clock Town's mailboxes.
Do not interfere when Sakon robs the Old Lady from the Bomb Shop in North Clock Town tonight! Doing so renders this side quest impossible to complete.

10 Ocarina of Time Enemies With the Best Reworks in Majora's Mask
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask reused some assets from Ocarina of Time, but the devs made sure to revamp these designs to make them even better.
Wait in the Laundry Pool until 4:15 PM on the Second Day — the door past the pool will finally be unlocked. Like before, players with the Nintendo 64 version can play the Song of Double Time and skip ahead to the Night of the Second Day. The interior turns out to be the Curiosity Shop's backroom, where Kafei will finally speak to Link for the first time.

As his purple hair implies, it's that kid wearing a Keaton Mask who doesn't normally respond to Link. He'll unmask himself, explain his circumstances, and give him the Pendant of Memories. Give it to Anju at any time between now and noon on the Final Day.
Dawn of the Final Day — 24 Hours Remain
Wait until 1 PM on the Final Day to regain access to the Curiosity Shop's backroom. The shop's owner will be there to explain the situation, and then give Link the Special Delivery to Mama and the Keaton Mask. On the Night of the Final Day, players can acquire one of two rewards for delivering the former — giving it to the Postman in his office and following him will eventually yield the Postman's Hat while giving it to Madame Aroma directly inside the Mild Bar will yield a new Bottle filled with Chateau Romani.

The latter is recommended, as it's much quicker and players must quickly head to Ikana Canyon before 7 PM. This is when having Ikana Canyon's Owl Statue active pays off since players can easily warp there with the Song of Soaring. It's still possible to reach the canyon without it, provided that Link knows Epona's Song and has the Garo's Mask and Hookshot.
Using Ice Arrows to freeze the Octoroks across the river isn't necessary, as players don't need to cross it. It will be necessary to ride Epona across the metal fences and the other two items to convince the Poe Collector to raise a dead tree for Link to tether to.
Sakon must not see Link before he enters his hideout. If he does, he will flee and never return, causing the side quest to fail. With the Nintendo 64 version (without the save states from the Nintendo Switch's Online service or emulation), players will be forced to restart the entire side quest. At least one of the rewards from the Special Delivery to Mama may ease the sting. If in doubt, wear the Stone Mask in Ikana Canyon.

Does Link Die After Majora's Mask?
Majora’s Mask's mysteries may never truly be solved, but at least one aspect of its lore can be known with certainty: Link’s fate after the game.

Head to Ikana Canyon's lower cliffs (from the Owl Statue, jump in the river and climb the wooden dock, but mind the Octoroks). Head in the direction that the river flows (don't jump back in the river) through an opening that leads to a Business Scrub who sells Blue Potions and a seemingly dead end. Kafei is hiding behind the rocks near the cliff, though how he managed to get there without a horse or supernatural aid is never explained.
Hide there with him or wear the Stone Mask until Sakon unlocks his hideout, then follow Kafei inside. The Stone Mask can be safely removed now. After heading through the first door, Kafei will find the Sun's Mask and set off a trap that activates the conveyor belt.
Players will only have a few minutes (real-time, not Terminan clock) to control both Link and Kafei to infiltrate Sakon's hideout and recover the Sun's Mask. This marks the first time in a Zelda game that players control a character other than Link. To succeed, players alternate control between Link and Kafei — Link must slay monsters while Kafei must solve block puzzles.

This should be obvious, but if players take too long to recover the Sun's Mask, the side quest fails.
Kafei Room 1
Push one of the four blocks on top of the blue switch. Blocks can only be pushed (not pulled) in the directions the Majora's Mask logo designates.
Link Room 1
Head into the open room and kill the Deku Baba. That's it.
Kafei Room 2
Pressing the yellow switches slows the conveyor belt and grants more time. Avoid the red switches — they cause the conveyor belt to move faster. Press the blue switch.
Link Room 2
Kill both Deku Babas. That's it.
Kafei Room 3

Carefully navigate to the nearest yellow switch, then head to the next room. It's a bit tricky, so follow these instructions carefully. Push the rightmost block down, then step on the red switch. The conveyor belt will speed up at first, so push the center block left on top of the yellow switch to ensure it stays slow from now on. Push the bottom block on the blue switch.
Link Room 3
Kill the Wolfos. To do so quickly, wait for it to attack (avoid it, don't block) then jump attack its back to kill it in one hit.
The block in front of the now open passage should have already been moved, so just run around the blocks and press the blue switch, then press the other blue switch with Link. Kafei will get the Sun's Mask back. After a transition out of the hideout, there will be only six in-game hours until the moon crashes.

Use the Song of Soaring to warp back to Clock Town. Head to the Employees Only room on the Stock Pot Inn's second floor. If Anju has the Pendant of Memories, she will be sitting on the bed, waiting for Kafei. A nearby treasure chest containing a Silver Rupee can be deposited to the Clock Town Banker during the wait.
Just remember to be in this room when there's only 1:30 left on the clock — that's when Kafei will arrive. A heartwarming cutscene will play, and Link will finally acquire the Couple's Mask. From this point, either play the Song of Time or climb to the Clock Tower and confront Majora's Mask.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Majora’s Mask is easily the strangest, most risk-taking adventure in the Zelda series. It’s completely unlike any of Link’s other games and delivers a tense, bizarre, and somber exploration of what it’s like to experience the end of the world, again and again. Most of its crazy ideas pay off just as well on the Nintendo 3DS today as they did on the Nintendo 64 original 20 years ago, which is the mark of a great game.
